Cooperative Training

Capacity building through sustained development of human resources has been central to NDDB’s efforts for growth of producer owned institutions. The training and capacity building interventions focus upon areas of advancements in dairying and scientific animal management, milk processing, feed and fodder, cost effective breed upgradations, preventive health management in bovines, quality control, cooperative management, and marketing strategies, etc.

The training imparted at NDDB follows the Principles of Adult Learning and adopts a blend of methodologies like classroom sessions, simulation games, group work, hands on experiences, village stay and interaction.

NDDB conducts need based and relevant training programmes through its six dedicated training centres and around 12000 dairy stakeholders annually were trained through these training centres. Each of the training centres cater to specialised training needs of the dairy sector.

It is important to attract youngsters towards dairying as a livelihood option.  Therefore, training on ‘Dairy entrepreneurship through Animal Husbandry’ is organised where the aspiring entrepreneurs learn about scientific animal management as well as nuances of dairying to make it a profitable enterprise.

To keep up with the pace of modern age learning style, NDDB has been utilizing the power of digital media to reach out to the masses on a massive scale. Under NDDB Samvad, digital technology has been used to take the learning to the fingertips of the learner.

NDDB has emphasized the need for paradigm shift of Capacity Building of individuals change from being ‘Captive Audience’ to being ‘Self Propelled learner’. All digital interactive sessions in regional languages are recorded and posted on NDDB YouTube channel for others to view and benefit at their convenient timings.

NDDB has supported Micro Training Centres (MTC) in the Vidarbha-Marathwada Dairy Development Project and Sundarbans milk union and also additionally trained trainers of micro training centres in Bihar.  The MTCs are a powerful platform for learning scientific animal husbandry by demonstration and experience sharing by progressive farmers in the same region.  One-day demonstration-cum-awareness generation programmes are organized at the dairy farms of progressive dairy farmers where men and women equally get a chance to participate.  This way, the accessibility of training gets more effective and easier.
