IDMC Ltd was founded in 1978 to indigenously manufacture a whole range of dairy equipment and components. The company aims to contribute to moderating their prices in the dairy sector and provide processing solutions at reasonable prices. In 1992, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
The company’s guiding principles are commitment, integrity, quality, and value for money. Its mission is to deliver cutting-edge engineering and flexible packaging solutions for the dairy, food processing, and pharmaceutical industries while maintaining ethical and eco-friendly practices.
IDMC operates in two key business segments: Metals and Plastics. The Metals division designs and manufactures high-quality dairy and food processing equipment, including storage tanks, process vessels, heat exchangers, and specialized machines like continuous butter manufacturing machines (CBMM), continuous khoa-making machines (CKMM), UHT sterilizers, aseptic tanks, ice cream freezers, and FAT standardization units.
With seven state-of-the-art manufacturing plants and an R&D center, IDMC ensures top quality through ISO 9001 certification. It produces bulk milk coolers, solar bulk milk coolers, mobile milk collection systems, and containerized coolers. IDMC is the only Indian company to manufacture Ice Silos and PHE plates domestically. Its R&D center has earned patents for innovations like the Heat Recovery Unit and Ice Thickness Measurement Sensor. In farm equipment, IDMC develops milking machines, milking parlors, TMR units, digital thawing units, and other dairy farm accessories.
Launched in 2005, IDMC’s FSSC 22000 certified Plastics segment specializes in high-quality dairy packaging solutions, producing precision films for the dairy, food, beverage, bakery, edible oil, and cereal industries. With an annual capacity of 16,000 tons, the facility features advanced machinery, including three- and seven-layer blown film plants, flexographic and rotogravure printing machines, and lamination units.
IDMC drives growth through its expertise in the Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (SITC) of projects in dairy, pharmaceuticals, cattle feed, biogas, and Thermal Management Systems. The company provides comprehensive automation solutions for real-time monitoring, control, and MIS for process and utility management.
NDDB has transferred technology to IDMC for domestic production of Ready-to-Use Culture (RUC). IDMC’s facility, with an annual capacity of 12,000 kg, reduces India’s reliance on imported cultures for fermented dairy products.
The company actively supports the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition’s ‘Gift Milk’ initiative, supplying fortified flavoured pasteurised milk to government schools in Anand District.
With over three decades of experience, IDMC Limited is a trusted provider of equipment design, manufacturing, and automation solutions. IDMC’s commitment to innovation, quality, sustainability, and export growth has solidified its position as a key player in India’s dairy and allied sectors.
